TEMESCAL VALLEY, CA — With headlights beaming at you it's hard to see, especially when thousands glare in your direction.

That's been the predicament of the Temescal Valley community along Interstate 15. In one spot, it's been particularly blinding after sunset: Glen Eden Road to DePalma Road.

Steve Spencer is president of Glen Eden Sun Club, which is touted as America’s largest member-owned nudist resort and club. The club is located at 25999 Glen Eden Road and Spencer said it's been very dangerous to make left-hand turns onto DePalma Road due to headlight glare coming off the 15 freeway.

"The bright glare from on-coming traffic on DePalma and the 15 Freeway posed a definite threat," Spencer said.

To make it safer, Spencer and the club called on Riverside County Supervisor Karen Spiegel for help. Together, the nudists and Spiegel made something happen.

On Monday, the supervisor — in collaboration with the Glen Eden Sun Club — will unveil a newly installed anti-glare fence for the safety and well-being of club members and the broader Temescal Valley community. The unveiling ceremony takes place at 5:30 p.m. at the corner of Glen Eden and De Palma roads.

The event is open to all community members; refreshments will be provided. Temescal Valley is the large unincorporated swath situated between Lake Elsinore to the south and Corona to the north.

Spencer thanked Spiegel ahead of Monday's event.

"Supervisor Spiegel worked with the community to install an anti-glare fence to alleviate the hazard. The anti-glare fence is not just a barrier against the oncoming headlights; it's an example of what we can accomplish when we work together for the collective good," he said. "Supervisor Spiegel's leadership in this project is greatly appreciated and underscores future opportunities for cooperative efforts that respond to the needs of the Temescal Valley community."

The fencing was installed by the County of Riverside Transportation Department.

The family-friendly Glen Eden Sun Club is located on 154 acres at the base of the Cleveland National Forest. The club features resort amenities amid the nature of Southern California.
