2 Dead In Officer-Involved Shooting In South Orange County, Police Say

Two people died when police responded to reports of a man attacking a woman Thursday afternoon, authorities say.

IRVINE, CA — One man was shot by Irvine police when police responded to reports of a man attacking a woman Thursday afternoon, authorities say.

Irvine police officers were dispatched at around 3:30 p.m. to Green Tree and Coral Tree lanes in Irvine — near University Park Elementary School — in response to reports of a man attacking a woman, the Irvine Police Department reported.

After arriving to the scene, officers found the victim and the suspect before an officer-involved shooting occurred, police said.

There was no immediate report on injuries.
