LIVERMORE, CA — The California Highway Patrol and Livermore Police Department are conducting a joint sobriety checkpoint at a location in Livermore from roughly 9 p.m. Friday to 1:30 a.m. Saturday, CHP said.

CHP said it hopes to reduce the number of drinking drivers on the road, and has selected roadways with established DUI problems. Motorists will see signs advising them that a checkpoint is ahead, and will only be delayed a few moments.
