Ford Fund Donates Masks To Livermore Valley Joint Unified Schools

These masks will provide LVJUSD staff members additional protective gear during the pandemic.

Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District (LVJUSD) accepted a donation of 11,400 medical masks from Livermore Ford, as part of Ford Motor Company’s Project Apollo and Ford Fund.

These masks will provide LVJUSD staff members additional protective gear during the pandemic.

“Protective gear is needed for our teachers and students to keep them healthy whether in or out of the classroom” stated LVJUSD COVID-19 Liaison, Carolyn Reggiardo, RN.

LVJUSD staff picked up the masks on Friday morning and were greeted by Ford employees who were very happy to pass on the donation. “We are proud to stand alongside our neighbors and community throughout the pandemic,” stated Annette Coito, General Manager of Livermore Ford. On hand to receive the masks was LVJUSD Child Nutrition Director, Dana Dodge. “Our staff interacts with the public daily as we provide meals to children in Livermore. These masks will be greatly appreciated!”

Ford’s Project Apollo is targeting production of 100 million medical-grade masks through 2021. The masks are being distributed through the Ford Motor Company Fund to nonprofit partners, state and local officials, schools, community groups and dealerships across the country.
