Livermore To Host July 4 Celebration At Robertson Park

The city said it is returning to Robertson Park instead of the Railroad Avenue garage for "better crowd management and safety."

The city expects that around 8,000 to 10,000 people will attend, about the same number that attended last year’s downtown show, spokesperson Stephanie Egidio told Patch.

LIVERMORE, CA — The City of Livermore’s Salute to the Fourth of July fireworks show will take place at Robertson Park this year.

In recent years, shows were held atop the parking garage on Railroad Avenue. This year, city officials said they will move the show back to Robertson Park, where it was hosted in years past, in order to “offer better crowd management and safety.”

The city expects that around 8,000 to 10,000 people will attend, about the same number that attended last year’s downtown show, spokesperson Stephanie Egidio told Patch. Parking will be available for 1,400 cars. While the event is free, a pre-paid parking pass of $25 is required. No payment for parking at the gates will be accepted.

The first 2,000 people to attend will receive an American flag fan courtesy of sponsor Marcel Orthodontics. The Livermore High School Varsity Dance Team and Varsity Girls Basketball team will host a kids’ activity zone fundraiser offering face painting, games, and more from 5 to 8 p.m. Water and glow sticks will also be available for purchase with cash only.

Possession, sale, or use of fireworks is illegal in Livermore. A new “social hosting provision” approved by the city council holds property owners responsible when fireworks are discharged on their property and the guest using the fireworks cannot be identified.
