Livermore Police Host Popular "Trick or Treat with Cops" on Halloween

Two reserve officers will patrol streets looking for goblins to treat.

Livermore parents and children are advised to be on the lookout for the Livermore Police Department’s classic 1954 Chevy police vehicle on Halloween night. Behind the wheel and riding shotgun will be reserve officers Sheryl Long and Don Swanson, both looking for children who say “Trick or Treat.” The reward? Candy, police stickers and other goodies, and maybe even a photo with two uniformed officers and a collectible vehicle!

Long and Swanson will hit the streets at 4:00 p.m. as they navigate their way through Livermore neighborhoods. This marks the second year of the program, which was developed by the Sheryl and Don and was a great success last year.

As much as other LPD officers would like to participate in Trick or Treating with Cops, they will be responding to emergency calls for service. Those officers not participating in Trick or Treating with Cops will drive the new Ford Explorer SUV and the traditional Ford Crown Victorian Police Interceptor.
