LPFD Searches For New Deputy Fire Chief

LIVERMORE, CA — The Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department is hiring a new deputy chief to oversee the operations division and help lead 128 employees in the two cities.

According to a short job posting, the department is looking for someone with extensive fire service and government management experience leadership, with a good record of getting things done.

"The ideal candidate will be technically proficient and display expertise in all aspects of modern fire department ops," the recruitment summary reads in part. "In addition to being an effective relation builder, outstanding communication and interpersonal skills will be expected."

According to the department, the most competitive candidates will be those currently serving as battalion chiefs or above. The salary range for the job ranges from $175,000 to $263,000 annually. The department will begin interviewing candidates after the posting closes on Sunday.
