Join us for a whimsical and sultry adventure with Shrek-tastic Summer...

Join us for a beloved Museum tradition - Dinner and a Movie with Elvis! This event takes place on Saturday, August 17. 
The evening begins at 6:00 pm with dinner and a show in the Schreiner Family Plaza! You'll enjoy a buffet dinner and the best Elvis Presley impersonator in the Los Angeles area, James Kruck. After the dinner and super fun entertainment, you'll make your way to the Ackerman Family Amphitheater for a screening of the 1969 Elvis movie, "Change of Habit," starring Presley, Mary Tyler Moore and Barbara McNair. Satellite Voodoo will rock the tunnel at Angels Gate Cultural Center on August 16th and 17th! Satellite Voodoo is Chuck Alvarez featuring vocalist Ed Callen with special guest Phil Shanale on keyboards.
"The Fortnight Concert Series provides the opportunity for music lovers to experience the artist’s performance up close and personal. The small intimate underground space, located in Battery Leary at the former Fort MacArthur in San Pedro, California, encourages conversation between the performers and their audience as if you were in their living room.
We want to create a relaxed atmosphere where the artist’s can tell their story, how they work and create. What happens between songs and sometimes during is often funny, touching, and serious, but most of all entertaining."

Children's Dental Health Clinic

The California Dental Association Foundation is hosting a CDA Cares free dental clinic Saturday, Aug. 17 at Children’s Dental Health Clinic in Long Beach. Dentists and dental professionals will provide free cleanings, fillings, extractions and oral health education to approximately 100 adults and children in need. All patients will be matched with a local Medi-Cal dentist who can provide ongoing dental care after the event.
Patients must schedule an appointment in advance by contacting the CDA Foundation at 916-554-5358. There will be no day-of appointments and waiting lines will not be permitted. 
Uncontrolled blood pressure or diabetes may prevent patients from receiving dental care at the event. It is recommended that patients take medications as prescribed and bring a complete prescription list.

Please join us in the galleries at Angels Gate Cultural Center (AGCC)&nbsp;for a Closing Reception celebrating UPEND Female Experience and Activism and Displacing Structures, followed by an Artist Talk with the curator and artists of UPEND.
In <a href="https://angelsgateart.org/exhibitions/upend-female-experience-and-activism/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">UPEND</a>, curated by AGCC Director of Exhibitions Cecelia Koger, contemporary feminist issues are explored through the lens of radical empathy for the female experience. 
Guest curated by Fafnir Adamites, <a href="https://angelsgateart.org/exhibitions/displacing-structures/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Displacing Structures</a> expands upon traditional fiber techniques to reveal and embrace the personal, queer bodies, and the tensions between structure and aberration.
This will be the final opportunity to view the exhibitions. Refreshments will be provided for the Closing Reception from 1pm to 3pm, and the Artist Talk will begin at 3pm.
