LONG BEACH, CA — Six people were arrested this week on charges they illegally imported goose and duck intestines to California from China and then transported the products to New York, where they were sold to restaurants and other customers, according to reports.

In August 2022, nearly 3,000 pounds of intestines were shipped to Long Beach, at least some of which were mislabeled as nail clippers for pet groomers, ABC News reported. The intestines were then flown from Los Angeles to New York, according to KTLA.

More illegal poultry, this time mislabeled as frozen seafood and hidden partially under dead rattlesnakes, was shipped in November 2022, KTLA reported.
