LONG BEACH, CA — Police arrested five people on Thursday in connection to an overnight shooting murder in Long Beach that happened in November 2023.

Detectives from the Long Beach Police Department Special Investigations Division served search warrants in three different cities — Long Beach, Compton and Lancaster — which led to the arrest of the suspects. Authorities believe the suspects were responsible for the murder of 41-year-old Andre McClendon near the 1700 block of Pine Avenue on Nov. 26.

Officers responded around 2:15 a.m. where they found McClendon suffering from gunshot wounds to his upper body, police said, adding that McClendon died at the scene.
