Police Investigate Discovery Of Woman's Body In Long Beach

LONG BEACH, CA — A woman found dead near El Dorado Park in Long Beach might be the victim of a homicide, authorities said Saturday.

Long Beach police and firefighters were summoned at about 11:45 a.m. Friday to the area of the San Gabriel River and Willow Street on a report of a body that did not appear to have died from natural causes, according to a Long Beach Police Department release.

Arriving officers determined the death might have been a homicide, police officials said.

The woman's death was under investigation and the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner will confirm identity and determine cause, police said.
