LONG BEACH, CA — A Long Beach man was arrested on suspicion of stabbing two people and punching through a glass window before fleeing the scene late Tuesday night, the Long Beach Police Department said.

According to police, officers responded to a report of a stabbing at about 9:38 p.m. in the 1000 block of Olive Avenue. When authorities arrived, they found a man and a woman with non-life-threatening stab wounds to their upper bodies.

"Officers rendered medical aid until Long Beach Fire Department personnel arrived and transported the victims to a local hospital where they were listed in stable condition.," LBPD said in a statement.

Preliminary investigation results suggest the woman was involved in an argument with the suspect. During the argument, the other man attempted to intervene and separate the suspect and the woman.

Police said the intervention prompted the suspect to stab the others and subsequently punch through a glass window before fleeing from the scene. Police later located the suspect at a local hospital while he was receiving treatment for injuries sustained in the fight and arrested him.
