SAUSALITO, CA — The size of the Sausalito Ferry Landing plaza would be increased under plans for $2.4 million in improvements.

The project would expand the plaza area to accommodate new benches, additional ticketing machines and more queuing for bicycles and pedestrians, according to a city press release.

The plan would require closure of Tracy Way and a net loss of eight parking spaces in Parking Lot 1 adjacent to the ferry plaza.

The Planning Commission approved the site plan on Wednesday by a vote of 3-2. It now goes to the City Council.

Increasing the size of the plaza to improve circulation and queuing is the primary requirement of a $2.4 million federal grant administered by the Golden Gate Bridge, Highway, and Transportation District, according to the city.
