2 Marin Strong-Arm Robberies Under Investigation

The incidents are not believed to be related, authorities said.

SAUSALITO, CA —Two strong-arm robberies that occurred four days apart are under investigation, but the incidents are not believed to be related, Sausalito police said.

The first of the two robberies reportedly occurred at around 6:25 a.m. Feb. 15 in the 500 block of Bridgeway, police said.

The victim had just arrived home in their vehicle when a suspect vehicle pulled up next to their vehicle and two suspects smashed both the driver and passenger windows of the victim’s vehicle, reached inside, and forcibly took the victim’s purse, cell phone and other property, police said.

The suspect vehicle was described as a silver sedan occupied by at least two males, police said.

In the second robbery, which reportedly occurred at around 7:34 p.m. Sunday, a suspect vehicle drove up to a group of people walking on the side of the roadway on Spinnaker Drive when a suspect reached out of the window, grabbed the victim’s purse, then drove away at a high speed, causing a victim to fall to the ground, police said.

The suspect vehicle was described as a white sedan occupied by at least two males, police said.

“Robberies are rare in Sausalito,” the agency said in a news release.

“They are crimes of violence that threaten the safety and quality of life of a community. The Sausalito Police Department is actively investigating these crimes and will exhaust every lead available to arrest the responsible individuals.”
