Coast Guard Water Safety Fair Saturday In Sausalito

The free event gives people the chance to meet first responders and learn about boating and water safety.

MARIN COUNTY, CA — The U.S. Coast Guard is hosting a water safety fair this weekend in Sausalito to kickstart National Safe Boating Week.

Personnel from Coast Guard Station Golden Gate and the Coast Guard Auxiliary will be on hand Saturday starting at 10 a.m. at Fort Baker, located at 435 Murray Circle in Sausalito.

The free event gives people the chance to meet first responders and learn about boating and water safety via displays, workshops, demonstrations, discussions and rescue boat tours, among other things.

"Station Golden Gate is thrilled to host the upcoming Coast Guard water safety fair, where we'll be partnering with local agencies to promote water safety awareness," said Petty Officer 1st Class Charles Baldwin, a boatswain's mate assigned to Station Golden Gate. "Our collaborative goal is to reduce water related accidents and save lives within our community."
