MARIN COUNTY, CA — REI Co-Op has a solution for parents looking for creative and engaging ways to entertain their kids this summer— and as school begins online — while also keeping them active.

The specialty outdoor retailer which has more than 10 Bay Area locations, including in Corte Madera, launched its "NorCal Family Summer Bicycle Challenge" as a way for parents and children to explore their local areas by bicycle.

The local REI team created a list of 28 things for families to find or do while out on their family cycling adventures. Parents are invited to visit the NorCal Family Summer Bicycle Challenge site, download the challenge list and get pedaling to cross items off their list by finding items such as: a California Poppy, a park entrance sign, some local chalk art and more!

Participants are then encouraged to share their experiences with the REI community on REI Conversations, REI’s digital community to learn, share and inspire each other to get outside.

The challenge runs through the end of August, giving families plenty of times to get outside and enjoy the Bay Area’s beautiful weather while biking together. For a list of steps on how to participate and to download the challenge list, visit here.
