TIBURON, CA — Marin County authorities worked together Tuesday to catch the culprits accused of carjacking a vehicle with a toddler inside near the Oakland Coliseum.

According to investigators, the vehicle was stolen Tuesday afternoon near the Oakland Coliseum, and the two-year-old child inside was soon found wandering the streets near a warehouse in San Leandro.

The Marin County Sheriff's Office said the child's mother contacted them around 7 p.m. as she used the "Find My" iPhone tool to track the vehicle. The woman told dispatchers her stolen car appeared to be parked at a McDonald's in the Strawberry area. Deputies rushed to the scene and confirmed the stolen vehicle was sitting unoccupied in a parking lot.

The sheriff's office worked with Tiburon police officers and COPE detectives to swarm the area, eventually finding the suspects attempting to flee on foot after an exhaustive search, officials said.

Investigators identified the two suspects as Viorel Andrei Morari, 35, of Oakland, and Carly McVicker, 32, of San Leandro. Oakland officers arrived at the scene to take custody of the suspects and process the vehicle for evidence. Both suspects were booked into the Alameda County Jail on suspicion of multiple charges, including kidnapping and carjacking.
