SAN RAFAEL, CA — The owner of a vacant San Rafael office building is seeking approval to convert the structure for residential use, The Marin Independent Journal reports.

Aaron Lamstein, who owns the 10,644-square foot 160 Mitchell Blvd. structure has submitted pre-application paperwork to use the building to create 20 housing units in a business district according to the report.

Lamstein told the publication the building was vacant before the pandemic, which has seen demand for office space plummet and more employees work remotely.
