Marin Zip Code Among Richest In America: Bloomberg

MARIN COUNTY, CA – One of the richest zip codes in the country belongs to a town in Marin County, according to a new report by Bloomberg.

Tiburon, an incorporated town in Marin County with the 94920 zip code, ranks as the 20th richest zip code among western states and the 67th among states across America.

The richest zip code in the West belongs to 94027 in Silicon Valley, also known as the city of Atherton on the San Francisco Peninsula, according to Bloomberg. Atherton claimed the second-place spot on the national list, after Fisher Island, with the 33109 zip code.

The island, located off the coast of Miami, Florida, had an average income of $2.5 million in 2015, according to a Bloomberg analysis of 2015 Internal Revenue Service data.

Palo Alto, with the 94301 zip code, has the second richest zip code in the West and fourth in the country, while San Francisco's 94111 zip code is the fourth richest among western states and rounds out the top 10 on the national list.
