Get Ready for Winter Weather and Help Prevent Flooding in Your Neighborhood

In our fall leaves article last year, we reminded community members to clean up leaves on your property by putting them in your green bin instead of sweeping leaves into the street. This good habit not only reduces fire fuels during fire season, but more importantly, right now in winter, it prevents flooding. Now that rainy season is upon us, leaves swept into the street will block storm drains and lead to localized flooding. We encourage community members to continue to rake and dispose of leaves in your green bins.
