MARIN COUNTY, CA — The Coast Guard jumped into action Saturday after a windsurfer was reported missing by his family. In a news release, the Coast Guard said watchstanders fielded the call just before 8 p.m., launching an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew and a lifeboat crew to search for the missing man.

Members of San Francisco's fire and police departments assisted with the effort.

The Coast Guard helicopter spotted the windsurfer in the water near the Point Bonita Lighthouse and hoisted him to safety, flying him back to Air Station San Francisco. Fortunately, rescue crews said the windsurfer showed no signs of medical concerns.
