MARIN COUNTY, CA — A motorcyclist who died in a crash near Bolinas Saturday morning was identified Monday as Aaron Clayton, 45, of San Francisco, according to the Marin County coroner's office.

Clayton was driving north on state Highway 1 approaching Olema Bolinas Road around 10:15 a.m. when he tried to pass a SUV that was turning left. Clayton had crossed the double yellow lines and was traveling at a high rate of speed when he crashed, the California Highway Patrol said.

The SUV slowed, with its left turn signal activated, and began to make a left turn onto Olema Bolinas Road. Clayton then tried to pass it on the left and collided with the left front side of the SUV, the CHP said. He was ejected into a nearby field, where his motorcycle also came to rest and
started a fire.
