MILL VALLEY, CA — Marin County's Community Development Agency has released a draft environmental impact report for repurposing the old Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary on the Strawberry peninsula. The school relocated its students elsewhere in 2015.

North Coast Land Holdings, the owner of the 127-acre property, plans to build a new residential care facility on the site, along with 336 multi-family residential units. Officials said the project would be Marin County's largest private development in several years.

The plan also includes a new preschool and a 17,000-square-foot fitness center that would be open to the general public. An overhaul of the existing administration building would grow the building to 41,000 square feet. According to the county, more than 70 percent of the former seminary grounds would remain as open space.
