Sophomore Katie Lowenstein Shines As Tam High Tops Redwood

MILL VALLEY, CA — Big games can intimidate less experienced players, but all indications are Tuesday’s pivotal showdown didn’t faze Katie Lowenstein much.

The Tamalpais High sophomore forward/midfielder scored the only goal in Tuesday’s 1-0 girls' soccer victory over Marin County Athletic League rival Redwood.

Sophomore defender Gabby Hoeberichts had an assist on the game’s only goal.

“Katie had a superb game overall with strong hold-up play,” Tam High’s coaching staff jointly wrote on MaxPreps announcing she’d been selected the Player of the Game.

“Technical and strong she was a key reason we had many of the chances in the game.

The Tamalpais coaches acknowledged their opponent presented a formidable challenge.

“Redwood is a very talented team and well-coached. An extremely challenging opponent,” the coaches said.
