Tam High Football Advances To NCS Semis

Tamalpais will play No. 1 Marin Catholic on Friday at 1 p.m. in what will be the second meeting between the two teams in three weeks.

MILL VALLEY, CA — No. 4 seeded Tamalpais High School defeated No. 5 Petaluma 27-21 in a first-round North Coast Section Division IV playoff game Saturday.

The victory sends the Red-tailed Hawks to the semifinals.

They’ll play No. 1 Marin Catholic on Friday at 1 p.m. in what will be the second meeting between the two teams in three weeks.

The most recent meeting did not go well for Tamalpais, which experienced a 41-0 loss in the regular season finale for both teams.

Marin Catholic made easy work of Mt. Diablo of Concord in its first-round game on Saturday as the Wildcats rolled to a 66-0 win for their seventh straight victory.

Sebastian Chen rushed for 154 yards and one touchdown on 20 carries and Christian Son scored three rushing touchdowns.

Samuel Reade caught nine passes for 121 yards and Billy Kuhns had eight receptions for 113 yards.

Jake Son led Tamalpais defensively with 11 tackles.
