TIBURON, CA — The Marin Countywide Stormwater Pollution Prevention Program, Tiburon Public Works and Clean Marin are looking for volunteers to help clean up the town's Main Street and Shoreline Park next week.

The latest edition of the "Team Up to Clean Up" initiative will meet near the roundabout near the park at 9:45 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 28.

The program rotates through Marin County's 11 municipalities and unincorporated areas each month to perform targeted cleanups to help keep the region free of trash. Volunteers can stop by for just a few minutes, or stick around for the whole event.

"These volunteer events will be accompanied by pre and post visual trash surveys so staff can assess the rate at which trash accumulates in these areas and identify potential sources," officials write. "We can then use the data to implement local programs, partnerships, and controls to limit future trash in those areas.

Volunteers are encouraged to bring a signed waiver and RSVP in advance to help organizers get an idea of how many people to expect.
