Monrovia Holds Community Meeting to Get Feedback on Proposed Hotel Development

The proposed Marriott TownePlace Suites Hotel is planned at the southwest corner of Myrtle Avenue and Huntington Drive.

MONROVIA, CA -- Officials from the Tharaldson Hospitality Group will present its plans for the proposed Marriott TownePlace Suites Hotel project to the community Thursday at the Monrovia Public Library.

The group wants to build the hotel on the southwest corner of Myrtle Avenue and Huntington Drive. The plans are still very conceptual at this point the company said. There is still a formal application that needs to be reviewed by the Development Review Committee, Planning Commission, and City Council, as well as an environmental impact study.

The meeting is a scoping meeting to get the community's inputs on the proposed development. The feedback from the meeting can then be addressed in the environmental and design review processes.
