Which Non-profit Charity is Best?

Lookiing for an honest, reputable, local non-profit charity to donate my goods to. Used to give to the City of Hope Thrift Shop but it closed. There, I knew my goods were going to a great cause. Those who really needed help. There are so many "charities" and thrift shops out there but most of them are either for profit or the money and goods are given to unknown entities. I have alot of great lightly used, and even new, toys, clothes and general household items that I would love to see go to the less fortunate. Or at least see the money go where it's supposed to go and not into someone's pocket making them rich. Please chime in with your recommendations! Thanks in advance.
