Woman Dies After Being Struck By Car In Monrovia

The woman was in a crosswalk near Foothill Boulevard and Myrtle Avenue when she became pinned underneath a car.

MONROVIA, CA — A pedestrian died in Monrovia on Saturday after being struck by a car, the Monrovia Police Department said.

Authorities are withholding the woman's name pending notification of her family. She's identified as being in her 60s.

There have been no arrests in the collision, and it remains under investigation, police said.

The woman was in a crosswalk around 8 a.m. on Saturday when a car turned left from Myrtle Avenue and onto Foothill Boulevard, striking her. The woman became pinned underneath the vehicle.

The driver did not see the woman in the crosswalk, police said. Authorities added the car was going around 5 to 10 mph.

Firefighters were able to free the woman from the vehicle, but she later died at a local hospital.
