El Charro, home of the original Taco Tuesday, has been serving generous Tacos in Montrose since 1955. There's always a daily special.
These are the steps that lead to TACOS that have stood the test of time. Call it a "taco pilgrimage" if you will, where hundreds make the journey to partake each week. EL CHARRO, located near the corner of Honolulu & Verdugo, is the oldest restaurant in Montrose and the home of the ORIGINAL TACO TUESDAY!
The colorful menu, done in red and gold, says it all. A "charro" is a Mexican horseman or cowboy, usually dressed in an elaborate outfit and wearing a sombrero, thus the name.
Every Tuesday the restaurant fills up with taco lovers. Some have been coming every week for years. For only $1.75 you can get a generous crispy taco filled with shredded beef, shredded white meat chicken, or ground beef. Sides of guacamole, verde sauce, or sour cream are $1 each.
