NEWPORT BEACH, CA — Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz introduced himself to Orange County voters on Tuesday, Aug. 13 during a fundraiser in Newport Beach, The Orange County Register reported.

Walz, who was named Vice President Kamala Harris' running mate last week, headlined the fundraiser in one of his first solo events since joining the ticket.

During the fundraiser, Walz went over his platform — supporting gun ownership when balanced with regulations, paid family leave and clean air laws, the newspaper said.

“They keep talking about these are radical things, and I’m like, go ahead and label me whatever you want because I’ll damn sure guarantee you 80% of people in Minnesota and across the country want those things,” Walz said in the report.
