NORTHRIDGE, CA — The San Fernando Valley has it all: history, culture, celebrities, shopping, art and foodie scenes, even stunning nature, so, naturally, it has it's own holiday: 818 Day.

This year, 818 Day falls on Sunday, and the celebration will take place all weekend at the Westfield Topanga mall in Canoga Park.

The celebration of 818 Day, the six-year-old holiday named for the region's iconic area code will include events ranging from a burrito-eating contest, to a display of historical relics, live music and tequila tasting.

A newly-designed flag for the San Fernando Vallley will be unveiled Sunday night on level 1 near the Fountain. The mall’s fountain will also be transformed to pay tribute to the Valley, according to My Valley Pass, the San Fernando Valley visitor's guide.

The celebration will run Friday and Saturday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

More than anything, the event is about celebrating the vibe of the Valley.

"We have a really cool setup this year again. We have our free retro arcades on free play, we have a cool display of the Valley Relics Museum and we have some cool music throughout the entire weekend," said My Valley Pass and 818 Day founder Oscar Urrutia told ABC7. "We always noticed that people were saying, 'Happy 818 Day,' but nothing was ever really celebrated. So, the Valley Relics Museum and My Valley Pass took it upon ourselves to start making it a bigger thing for the Valley."
