Fire Damages Granada Hills Home

No one is injured in the West Tribune Street fire.

Fire Thursday damaged a room at a two-story home in Granada Hills and extended to the roof of the 48-year-old structure, a fire official said.

Firefighters dispatched to 16339 W. Tribune St. at 6:17 a.m. had the fire out within 25 minutes, said Erik Scott of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The fire started in an upstairs bedroom fireplace and extended to the roof.

“The homeowner’s grandson was awakened by the smell of smoke and functional smoke alarms did sound,” Scott said.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
