8.19.2021 NUSD Covid Update
Dear NUSD Community,
At the Public Health Webinar on Tuesday, August 17, we learned clarifying guidance on travel, quarantine, and testing. The Webinar was recorded and can be found here, and the Presentation Slides can be found here.

- Unvaccinated students should get tested for COVID-19 5 days after travel (domestic or international) and follow CDPH modified quarantine guidance (see #8).
- They may attend school for in-person instruction if they are asymptomatic.
- They should quarantine from all extracurricular activities at school, including sports, and activities with the community setting. (Refer to Page 21 of the Presentation Slides.)
- Vaccinated persons should get tested 3-5 days after return from international travel and monitor for symptoms for 14 days.
- If known exposure to COVID-19, vaccinated and unvaccinated persons should be tested 3-5 days after exposure.
Updated Decision Trees were also published for vaccinated and unvaccinated students and staff. They can be found below:

There was also an update to #24 of the Marin County School Guidelines regarding outdoor masks.
- Staff and students are required to wear face coverings indoors, and recommended to wear face coverings outdoors based on the direction of public health, unless there is a medical or behavioral contraindication or exemption. Students from grades TK – 2 should be supported and taught how to wear them properly, and specific outdoor and appropriately distanced activities may be scheduled for students at all grade levels to remove face coverings for brief periods of time.
