9.3.2021 NUSD Covid Update

Dear NUSD Community,

Since the beginning of the school year, NUSD has had 16 reported positive Covid-19 cases with potential exposures across the district. Of the approximately 7,392 individuals (students and staff), this represents .2%. While we would like to have 0 positive Covid-19 cases, we have been diligent in our safety precautions.  Each week the NUSD Covid Dashboard is updated, and you can view it here.

Here are some recent updates:

  • After confirming with Marin Public Health, NUSD will accept the results from rapid antigen tests that families supply for their student. The parent/guardian must send a screenshot of the results to principal or health liaison to confirm a negative result. They can return to school with a negative test as long as they are symptom free.
  • 2021-2022 NUSD Student and Family Handbook is now available in English and Spanish. You can find them here https://nusd.org/safety-information/ along with the Decision Trees.
  • The Decision Trees have been updated as of 8/30/21 and can be found here for Vaccinated and Unvaccinated or Partially Vaccinated
  • We created a Covid-19 Scenario Infographic for Supervised TK-12 School Exposure. They can be found here in English and Spanish.

A few reminders:

  • Students or staff who present symptoms at school must be sent home and tested.
  • Masking outdoors is highly recommended. Parents/Guardians may come on campus without wearing a mask if they remain outdoors.

If you have any questions, please let us know.
