Brush Fire On Camp Pendleton Sends Smoke Over North County

North County Fire Protection District issued a smoke advisory for the district.

CAMP PENDLETON, CA — Crews were battling a brush fire Tuesday afternoon on Camp Pendleton, authorities said.

The blaze, called the Papa Fire, was burning within the Papa 3 Training Area of the military base, according Camp Pendleton. Camp Pendleton firefighters were working to extinguish the flames.

"Smoke may be visible, but there is currently no threat to personnel or structures," Camp Pendleton officials said on X, formerly known as Twitter.

North County Fire Protection District issued a smoke advisory for the district, which serves the nearby communities of Fallbrook, Bonsall and Rainbow. Although smoke was visible in the area, there was no threat to the district.
