📰 Here are the top stories today in Orange County:

  1. An 81-year-old Nevada man is suing Anaheim’s Disneyland, claiming a security dog attacked him. Reportedly, back in 2022, the dog’s handler made a mistake, which caused the man to bump into the dog. Claiming negligence on the park’s side, the suit “seeks restitution for a physical wound, pain, suffering, emotional distress and the cost of past and future medical treatment.” He went to the hospital and received treatment “for his wound with antibiotics.” (Patch, KTLA)
  2. Westminster is getting a 26,211-square-foot retail center aptly named the Bolsa Row Terrace. Earlier, Little Saigon saw the completion of the 200 Bolsa Row Apartments that are next to the site. The venue draws inspiration from “French colonial architecture of pre-war Vietnam” and will feature a “traditional mansard roof as an homage to Vietnam’s iconic Bến Thành Market.” (Construction Dive)
  3. In somewhat related news, two shopping centers — the La Palma Collection and The Row on Harbor in La Habra — have new owners. Previously owned by the DMI Real Estate Group, a “private 1031 exchange buyer acquired the (Valley View Street) asset for $13 million” while a “1031 all-cash buyer acquired the (South Harbor Boulevard) property for $12.5 million.” (Rebusiness Online)
  4. Santa Ana will have the OC’s first human milk donation collection center. Located on W. Santa Ana Boulevard, the joint venture of MOMS Orange County and Mothers’ Milk Bank celebrates its grand opening on Aug. 18 at 10 a.m. “Nursing mothers can bring their frozen breast milk (stored up to six months) to the new human milk collection center or be screened to donate in the future.” Regular hours of operation will be Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Patch)
  5. Also on Aug. 18, Laguna Niguel will screen “Big Hero 6” at Crown Valley Park. The movie under the stars program begins at 7:30 p.m. Remember to pack a blanket or two! (City of Laguna Niguel)
