1. Seven Irvine businesses, including HiroNori Craft Ramen and Domino’s Pizza, were hit by burglars on the same night. They were at the Sand Canyon Plaza Shopping Center. Reportedly, the getaway car was a “white, older model BMW SUV, possibly an X3 or X5.” (KTLA)
2. The Orange County Sheriff’s Department made an arrest in the fatal stabbing of a 50-year-old man in Anaheim. The suspect is a 52-year-old Yorba Linda resident. Even so, the investigation is ongoing. (KTLA)
3. The Mission Viejo city council revamped its design standards for residential structures. Proponents say this step streamlines permitting and maintains the city’s overall vibe. Standards “cover every basis of the building process, from lighting specifications to wall measurements, all the way down to the Spanish Andalusian style often utilized.” Critics say that the community was not involved in the process. 4. Harbinger Motors will move its “headquarters to the Central Industrial District in Garden Grove.” Currently located in Gardena, the plan is to fully occupy the new building by November. “Harbinger’s goal is to put its medium-duty EVs on the road next year,” and the new facility will be instrumental in “chassis assembly and battery pack manufacturing.” (Commercial Search)
5. Angry Chickz is opening today in Aliso Viejo. The Nashville-based company is famous for its spicy fried chicken. Come on over to the ribbon-cutting at 26741 Aliso Creek Road at 11 a.m. “The first 100 residents who take part in the Friday opening will receive a bag full of branded merchandise, including items such as Angry Chickz car air fresheners, keychains, stickers, and a #22 Angry Chickz jersey — in honor of the brand's 22nd location.” (Patch)
