The boy’s father posted a video showing an administrator escorting the boy from the classroom.

The administrator, identified in The Mercury News report as Theuerkauf Elementary Principal Michelle Williams, is shown in the video explaining the Whisman School District’s mask-wearing policy to father – and the reasoning behind it.

“I welcome him here and I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again. I want him here, but it is our district’s policy that students have to wear a mask,” she says.

“I’m going to have him removed from campus if you don’t leave at this time,” she said.

The father leaves with his son after a brief exchange with a campus police officer.
