64-Year-Old Pedestrian Killed In Apparent East Palo Alto Hit-And-Run

EAST PALO ALTO, CA — A 64-year-old male pedestrian was killed Sunday morning in an apparent hit-and-run collision, East Palo Alto police said.

Authorities have not yet identified the driver or indicated if an arrest was made in connection with the crash.

Officers at around 10:08 a.m. Sunday responded to the 2200 block of Ralmar Avenue on the report of a collision, police said.

“During the response, officers were updated that the collision was an automobile verses a pedestrian and there were apparent injuries,” police said in a news release.

“Police were also advised that the vehicle involved may have fled the scene.”

Officers located the victim in the driveway of a residence, where he was found to be unconscious with apparent injuries, police said. There were also three vehicles parked in the area with apparent crash damage.

The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries, police said.

The vehicle that collided with the pedestrian was located approximately a block away, where it had collided with two more vehicles and the fence of a home, police said.

An initial investigation did not indicate the driver was under the influence of alcohol or drugs, police said.

The investigation is ongoing.
