Celebrate Valentine's Day with “Embrace Yourself & Practice Self-Love"

"Embrace Yourself and Practice Self-Love" is a two-part, free event for singles and couples to bond around the topic of self-love

To celebrate Valentine’s Day, MyYogaTeacher is holding a two-part, virtual event – “Embrace Yourself and Practice Self-Love” -- for singles and couples to bond around the topic of self-love. We’d love to invite you to attend one or both sessions!

The first session, “Love Yourself This Valentine’s Day,” takes place on Monday, Feb. 13 at 5:00 pm Pacific Time, and centers on a discussion of why self-love is important and critical for creating meaningful relationships with others. Shweta Jain, one of MyYogaTeacher’s highest-rated instructors with a background in behavioral psychology, will address how loving yourself unconditionally is an important first step in nurturing close relationships and how to condition the mind to prioritize happiness. She will close with a 10-minute guided meditation.

The second session, “Asanas for Self-Love,” takes place on Tuesday, Feb. 14 at 5:00 pm Pacific Time. This 60-minute guided practice, also led by Jain, focuses on asanas (physical postures) that promote self-love and will help you to embrace yourself by balancing the heart chakra (energy center in the body). The goal here is to express love for yourself, which will, in turn, empower you to have more meaningful relationships with others.

According to Jain, “Since childhood our environment conditions us to seek love from others. Loving oneself is often translated to being selfish. Over time, our love for ourselves becomes dependent on our looks, achievements, successes, and the opinion of others, making it conditional. Expecting others to love us when we fail to love ourselves is like selling a product we would not buy ourselves. On the other hand, a person who loves oneself under every condition, and in every moment, is not just loved by others, but also loving to others the same way.”

Dates: Feb. 13 and 14 at 8:00 pm Eastern Time/5:00 Pacific Time (60 minutes per session)
