Giving Tuesday is a global initiative that brings people together to harness the potential of collective generosity. Fortunately for folks in the Palo Alto area, there’s no shortage of organizations nearby that could greatly benefit from your support.

Here are five outstanding organizations in the Palo Alto area. Please consider volunteering or donating to them for Giving Tuesday and beyond.


  1. Alta Housing — This organization aims to provide affordable housing and supportive services to low-income individuals and families in Palo Alto. They work on developing, owning and managing high-quality affordable housing with the goal of fostering community and improving lives. Learn more at altahousing.org.

Palo Alto Partners in Education — Palo Alto Partners in Education is a nonprofit foundation that supports all Palo Alto Unified School District schools by raising funds to provide enrichment and support programs that the district's budget does not cover.
