Manresa Bread Opens This Week In Palo Alto

The new location will be at the Town & Country Village. There is still time to place orders for Easter and Passover.

PALO ALTO, CA — Manresa Bread, a Silicon Valley bakery with a devoted fan following for its specialty breads, croissants, quiches and pastries, is opening its newest location Friday at Town & Country Village in Palo Alto.

Just in time for Easter and Passover, too, as the shop is taking holiday orders for macarons, carrot cake, almond rye blueberry tarts, vegetarian quiche, quiche Lorraine and a Breton-style kouign amann pastry cake.

Orders can be placed here, with pick-ups April 15-17.

Manresa Bread was launched in 2014 by head baker and 2020 James Beard finalist Avery Ruzicka, an idea conceived while she worked in the kitchen of Chef David Kinch’s three-Michelin-star Manresa restaurant in Los Gatos.

Ruzicka has a no-shortcut reputation, as she mills 90% of the primarily local grains in-house and uses natural fermentation processes to create a rotating selection of sourdough loaves and sweet and savory pastries.

Other Manresa Bread locations are in Campbell (an all-day cafe), Los Altos and Los Gatos. The breads and pastries also are at Verve Coffee locations in Santa Cruz. Some products are available for shipping, as well.

The new Palo Alto locale is at Town & Country Village, 855 El Camino Real, Suite #138, between Wildseed and Hudson Grace. Hours 8 a.m. - 6 p.m.
