Minimum Wage To Increase In Palo Alto In New Year

The minimum wage has increased since the city council approved a minimum wage ordinance in 2016.

PALO ALTO, CA — Palo Alto's minimum wage will increase to $16.45 on Jan. 1, a slight bump from $15.40 in 2021.

The minimum wage has increased since the city council approved a minimum wage ordinance in 2016. Since then, the minimum wage has increased from $11 in 2016 to $12 in 2017, $13.50 in 2018, $15 in 2019 and $15.40 in 2020.

The minimum wage is adjusted each year according to the consumer price index (CPI) and applies to all employees working two or more hours per week.
