PALO ALTO, CA — Palo Alto has an opening on the Parks and Recreation Commission.

Commissioners are tasked with advising the city council on open space, parks, the golf course and recreation matters, according to the city. They will advise on planning and policy matters, review state legislative proposals and receive community input.

The seven-member commission should have a “demonstrated interest in parks, open space and recreation matters,” according to the listing.

The commissioner terms last for three years, with a term limit of nine consecutive years. Palo Alto residency is required.

The commission meets every fourth Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m., and commissioners may also be asked to take part in at least one sub-committee.
