Palo Alto Junior Museum Reopens This Week After Rebuild

The museum offers hands-on science classes for approximately 18,000 students in about 60 local elementary schools, according to its website.

PALO ALTO, CA — The Palo Alto Junior Museum reopens Friday following a three-year rebuilding.

The museum, which has been located temporarily at Cubberley Community Center since 2018 while the new facility was being built at Rinconada Park, is a place for children to play and learn about science and nature.

The new building is 15,085 square feet, nearly twice the size of the old building. It contains a new museum and education building, a new outdoor zoo and an upgraded parking lot. The museum offers hands-on science classes for approximately 18,000 students in about 60 local elementary schools, according to its website.

The museum’s grand opening is set for Friday. Until Dec. 20, it will be open Friday through Sunday only. On Dec. 21, it will return to a regular schedule of Tuesdays through Sundays. The museum’s hours will be 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
