Chargers Sign Running Back Kenjon Barner

The Chargers also announced Monday they had re-signed defensive tackle Tenny Palepoi and guard-tackle Kenny Wiggins.

CARSON, CA -- The Los Angeles Chargers announced Monday they signed free agent running back Kenjon Barner to a one-year contract.

Barner spent the last two seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles, rushing for 129 yards and two touchdowns on 27 carries and catching five passes for 42 yards in 2016. In 2015, Barner rushed for 124 yards on 28 carries and caught nine passes for 22 yards.

Barner was chosen by the Carolina Panthers in the sixth round of the 2013 draft out of Oregon. He rushed for seven yards on six carries and caught two passes for seven yards in eight games as a rookie.

Barnes was waived by Carolina before the start of the 2014 season, then spent the second half of the season on Philadelphia's practice squad.

Barner is a graduate of Notre Dame High School in Riverside.
