Earthquake Rattles Southern California New Year's Day, 2024

PALOS VERDES, CA— A magnitude 4.1 earthquake struck with an epicenter just off the coast of Palos Verdes on Monday morning, New Year's Day, according to the United States Geological Survey.

The temblor was reported just before 8:30 a.m.

The quake was felt across Los Angeles County, Orange County, Riverside County, San Diego County, and as far away as San Bernardino County, according to the USGS.
