Have Yourself A Whale Of A Day: Annual Festival Goes Virtual

The virtual event will educate the community about the migration of the Pacific Gray Whale.

RANCHO PALOS VERDES, CA — Want to learn more about the Pacific Gray Whale while having lots of fun? On Saturday, April 10, the city of Rancho Palos Verdes is holding Whale of a Day, a virtual event to educate the community about the mammal's migration.

In addition to the learning about whales, the program will feature all sorts of fun activities for the whole family. This is not a live event, so the activities will be made available all day on the whaleofaday website.

The fun will include:

  • Debut of the new Point Vicente Interpretive Center Exhibits
  • A puppet show, "Guillermo Goes to Mexico"
  • Abalone Cove Tide Pool Tour
  • Silent auction
  • Native plant garden tour
  • Whale education
  • Story and craft demo (with activity bag)
  • Entertainment and more!

There is no registration to participate; however, if you'd like the inclusive activity bag, you can pre-register at apm.activecommunities.com/rpv/Activity_Search/998. This goody bag will contain educational materials, giveaways, and materials to participate in a craft/story time. Once you are registered you may pick up your activity bag at Rancho Palos Verdes City Hall during business hours, between March 15th and April 2nd.
