How To Recycle Your Christmas Tree In Rancho Palos Verdes

RANCHO PALOS VERDES, CA — Now that the holiday has passed, all Rancho Palos Verdes residents are encouraged to recycle their Christmas trees.

How To Dispose Of Your Holiday Tree

Prepare your tree for collection by removing all plastic containers, metal stands and bars, ornaments, lights and the bulk of tinsel or garland. There's no need to cut the tree into smaller pieces (unless it’s over 6 feet tall).

Flocked trees, or trees coated with a fire retardant, will be accepted. Wreaths and other holiday foliage will be accepted.

Leave your tree at the curb during regular garbage collection through Jan. 15.

Residents can also cut up their tree and place it in the green waste bin for pickup on their regular refuse, recycling and organics waste collection service day.

If you live in a multi-family complex, ask your management company or homeowners association about the designated tree drop-off location for your complex. This location is typically in the garage area or near the recycling bins.
